Eragon Movie Review

Eragon. Do not waste your time. Only go in for the great special effects and Jeremy Irons. Comparisons with Lord of The Rings was going to be inevitable but unfortunately it shows too much resemblance.

Liverpool overload

The delayed league cup quarter-finals date have been confirmed.

January 9 2007

Great. Just three days after the FA cup against the people who never walk alone

Too bad Dennis has retired. Would have been the only time he could have gone to two continuos away games out of London within three days.

Liverpool vs. Arsenal Kids League Cup postphoned

Postphoned with Riley ad Atkinson preferring not to walk alone in the fog.

Anfiled shrouded in mystery

Arsene

“It is very much disappointing because the young players had a good opportunity to play tonight,’ he told Radio Five Live. ‘We had a good mixture of experienced and young players and I think it would have been very interesting”

Benitez

“I think we could play. I was surprised because this morning we were training in worse conditions,’ he said. ‘You cannot change the decision. You must respect it but we don’t agree”

I think it will most probably be pushed to mid January.

Liverpool vs. Arsenal Kids League Cup preview

It’s no secret that Arsene will field a young side in the League cup as that as been his norm over the past few years. We have a bunch of talented youngsters if I may say so myself…. Again, some coaches are just a bit res-eyed over this and have resorted to pre-match put downs like this one from Benitez

“We know there is a big difference with Arsenal who can pay millions for Denilson and also spend big on Theo Walcott and Abou Diaby.

“We monitored Denilson, Walcott and Diaby but we cannot compete with the big money spent on them. We are trying to do the same things on a lot less money, so we have to work twice as hard.”

Eh? Recap of the 2006 summer transfers

ARSENAL

In: Tomas Rosicky (Borussia Dortmund, undisclosed); William Gallas (Chelsea, player exchange), Denilson (Sao Paulo, £3.4m).

LIVERPOOL
In: Craig Bellamy (Blackburn Rovers, undisclosed); Gabriel Paletta (Atletico Banfield, £2million); Fabio Aurelio (Valencia, free); Jermaine Pennant (Birmingham City, undisclosed); Dirk Kuyt (Feyenoord, undisclosed).

2005 season

Abou Diaby from Auxerre to Arsenal, £2m
Theo Walcott from Southampton to Arsenal, £5m
Emmanuel Adebayor from Monaco to Arsenal, Undisclosed
Alexander Hleb from VfB Stuttgart to Arsenal, £6m
Peter Crouch from Southampton to Liverpool, £7m
Daniel Agger from Brøndby to Liverpool, £5.8m

Simple math over the past two seasons :

Arsenal bought £16.4 mil + 2 undisclosed transfers (Rosicky and Adebayor)
Liverpool bought £14.8 mil + 3 undisclosed transfers (Bellamy, Kuyt, Pennant)

“A lot less money”. Are you kidding me? Looks more even to me then the huge gulf he thought he saved.

New Beginnings

Second attempt to sustain a blog. Wish me luck.

We will be facing Liverpool in our next game after staging a very un-Arsenal like comeback in the weekend against Portsmouth after being two-nil down. Exciting to watch but critics will point to our dour performance leading to the disadvantage in the first place. There are many blogs that dwell on the problems but I’ll take a positive outlook on this one. We are way beyond the title now, even with the recent slip-up of Man Utd against West Ham.Heh

For those who have seen the draw with Chelsea, you would have seen that Cesc refused to acknowledge A$hley Cole in the match. He tells why.

For me, Ashley Cole is a closed subject.

He is not a friend because after leaving Arsenal he said many unjust things about us.

In the world of football, respect between companions is the key — and he broke this rule.

This player is forgotten — and also the person. I do not want to speak to him again.
